Our staff members are extensively trained in industrial rehabilitation and ergonomics to meet the needs of Worker’s Comp and No Fault patients.
Prevention
Pre-Placement Screenings
Prior to beginning a new role, an employee is given a thorough work-specific evaluation and ergonomic training by a physical therapist. This will ensure the individual is capable of meeting the physical demands of the job, thus decreasing potential Worker’s Comp costs.
Ergonomic Analysis (on-site)
Our specially trained physical therapist assess the body mechanics of your employees while they are physically performing their job. After a thorough evaluation, a report is made detailing ways to decrease strain, repetitive motions, vibration or forces placed on the worker. From warehouses to call-centers, this service has shown to greatly reduce employer cost and employee pain.
Industrial Education Programs
These 60-90 min workshops explore common work place injuries, and how to prevent them. Course material includes relevant anatomy, posture education and risk factors. Images are used from the specific industry to help participants learn to identify good postures and work habits.
Available topics: Low back injuries, Arm injuries, Office Ergonomics
Rehabilitation
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
This thorough evaluation determines a worker’s maximum capabilities in a number of categories, including: strength, flexibility, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking as well as other job specific requirements. Results from this test are ideal for physicians to have an accurate functional picture of their patient when filling out NYS C4.3 as well as disability paperwork.
FCE plus Symptom Magnification Syndrome Evaluation
When appropriate, our Physical Therapist will include the Symptom Magnification Syndrome Evaluation into the standard FCE to assess consistency of effort through a series of objective tests. This helps to identify patients who may be malingering.
Work Hardening/Work Conditioning
When standard physical therapy isn’t enough, this aggressive program puts the workers rehabilitation into high gear! With most sessions lasting several hours, employees work on strengthening, flexibility and job simulated activities. This helps them work towards their vocational goals and learn techniques to avoid future injuries.
